The park itself is not actually a full fledged theme park, but a section of a larger park.  It has two main rides and some smaller rides, and it features a version of Hogwarts, the school that Harry and Ron and Hermione attend in the books.  Kids can take a ride through the castle and around the grounds on a ride called “the Flight of the Hippogriff”, which is a type of roller coaster ride.  Afterwards, they can sit for a spell at a cafe in the village of Hogsmeade and have a glass of butter beer, which is not really alcoholic.  It is actually much like a cream soda ice cream float.

In the village of Hogsmeade, the kids can also take some time to look at the various shops that appear in the books and movies, such as the wand shop Olivander’s.  They can even choose their very own wand from Harry Potter and take it home and practice casting their own spells!  These wands are quite collectible, and they have proven to be one of the most popular items available for sale in the park.

My friend attended the meeting and found the presentation very professional and informative and the sales person did much to dispel her hesitation. In the end, she felt that giving up an hour of her time was a small price to pay for a lovely resort room. She did not make a purchase because the cost was too great for her budget, but she expects that she will in the future, and that timeshare promotions are a good way to learn about what is available.
