Camping in Britain can be the best type of holiday you will ever get in the UK if the weather is good. The problem in the UK though is that although we can get good weather it is less than predictable at any time of year – a forecast of weeklong sun can very quickly turn in to one of uninterrupted rain and this does not make for a fun family camping holiday. This factor needs to be considered very carefully when you a looking a booking up a holiday in the UK.
Static caravan holidays are largely uninterrupted by bad weather – if it is windy, raining or just cold you are still going to get a good nights sleep. If you have ever stayed in a tent you will know why I say this. Trying to sleep in gale force winds when the sides of the tent are flapping around is not an easy task for any one. If you go prepared on your static caravan holiday you will not be deterred by a bit of bad weather – in the UK there are always things to see and do regardless of what it is like outside, so if you pack yourself up some waterproofs or an umbrella you should be good to go.
If you are taking a family away you will also find that cooking is a much easier task in a static caravan than it is in a tent. With a proper cooking hob, oven and microwave whipping together a quick meal for four is no problem at all. Try doing that with a ‘camping kitchen’. If you are graced with good weather though there is nothing stopping you from doing a barbeque outside as if you were camping – it really is the best of both worlds.
The final advantage of static caravans over a camping holiday is that you can turn up, open a door and walk in. You don’t need to check the ground for stones and then erect your tent before you can start to relax – your holiday starts from the moment you turn up at the static caravan site.
